  2. Hold the back of the fan and pull out the fan blades.
  3.  Clean the separate components and then push the fan blade back into place

Why is the remote control for my fan not working?

Here are a few things to check:

  1. The remote is being pointed directly at the fan base, with no obstructions in between.
  2. You are using the remote within approximately 3 metres of the unit.
  3. The battery is inserted correctly, ensuring the positive and negative ends are aligned properly.

If you have checked these points and the remote is still not working, you may need to replace the battery. If you are using a new battery and still experiencing an issue, please contact our customer service team so they can look into this for you.

General Fan & Air Circulator FAQs

Which fans are the best and most effective?

The best fans are those that really circulate and cool the air in your room, without getting in the way. Often fans are big and noisy - our fans are specifically engineered for more air, less noise and less energy. They are portable, whisper-quiet and cost as little as 0.1p per hour to run - all without compromising on cooling performance.

Which fan is best for cooling?

While fans don’t really cool a room, they offer personalised cooling and air circulation which can be a great relief in the heat of the summer months. We obviously think that Meaco fans are the best buy! But don't just rely on us - our fans have won a range of awards from Quiet Mark to Which? Best Buy and consistently get great reviews from customers too. From our range, you'll be able to choose the best cooling fan for your needs - depending on the size of your room, requirements and budget.

What are the different types of fans?

There is a huge variety of fans from personal air circulators to portable fans and desk fans and up to pedestal fans. All these types of fans also offer different airflow, noise levels and features to suit your different needs. While a desk fan is best used in a home office or bedside for personalised cooling, a pedestal fan is ideal for positioning in a lounge to cool the whole family.

How do I choose which fan is right for me?

You’ll want something that circulates the air well, operates quietly, and looks stylish in your home. You’ll have to decide what size fan you want, whether you want a table fan or pedestal fan and whether you want a fan for personalised cooling or whole-room cooling. It all depends on your application, what do you need the fan for?

Which fan is best for sleeping in a bedroom?

For getting a good night’s sleep on those hot, uncomfortable nights, choosing the best fan for your bedroom is paramount.

At Meaco, we are proud that so many of the fans in our range are Quiet Mark accredited which means you know you’re investing in low noise fans with minimal disruption.

In order to get the best night’s sleep, we also recommend looking out for fans with Night Mode options. Night Mode will optimise the fan for you to sleep well: dimming or switching off the lights, switching off beeping noises and in some models, the fan speed (and therefore noise level) will reduce.

With a MeacoFan, you’ll be falling into a gentle night’s sleep in no time.

What is the difference between an air circulator and a fan?

'Air circulator' is a particular type of fan whereby the fan oscillates left and right, up and down in order to bounce the air off the walls and ceiling. This way you are moving all of the air within the room which is far more pleasant and efficient for everyone in the room, rather than just having a direct tunnel of air being blown over you as you would do with a normal fan.

If you look up air circulators online, you will find a range of fans from various suppliers. However, make sure you focus on good quality, low noise, low energy fans that circulate the air properly so that you get value for your investment.

Which fans can be used without being plugged into the mains?

All of our portable battery fans can be used without being plugged into the mains. This includes our: MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Table Air Circulator, MeacoFan Sefte Pro 10 Pedestal Air Circulator, MeacoFan Sefte 8 Portable Battery Air Circulator and the MeacoFan Sefte 6 Portable Battery Air Circulator.
