What is
relative air humidity?
Relative air humidity is measured in percent (% r.h.) and describes
the amount of water with which one cubic meter air contains, depending
on the temperature.
How does it come to dry air?
Especially in closed and heated rooms the relative air humidity sinks
far below the ideal value in wintertime. The heated and dry room air
urges to balance this deficit and subtracts humidity from its
surroundings.
Loss of value due to dry air.
Plants, furniture, antiques, paintings, musical instruments, and books
can be damaged by too dry air (e.g. dry cracks, etc.) and will loose
tremendous in value.
Electrostatic charges can cause
expensive malfunctions in computer rooms and telephone centers.
