Are all oil filled radiators the same?  The simple answer is no, so what features are worth paying extra for?

Construction - The Delonghi oil filled  radiators have a superior build quality which is reflected in their longer warranties.  Warranties of 3 and 10 years are available in the Delonghi range.

Warm Up Time - this is the length of time that it takes the radiator to warm up and start to give off heat.  The Delonghi radiators are noticeably faster.

Heat Distribution - take a look at a budget oil filled radiator and you will see that it is made up of a series of vertical fins.  Now look at a Delonghi radiator and the fins are not as noticeable.  This is because they have an extra sheet of metal across the outside of the fins, this has two effects.  Firstly it increases the surface area of metal which allows more heat to radiate out faster.  Secondly it creates vertical channels inside the radiator which act like a chimney and convects heat upwards.  This chimney effect is unique to Delonghi.

Pre Fitted Castors - The Dragon 3 range have pre-fitted castors which saves the time (and for some the hassle) that it takes to fit the castors when you receive your oil filled radiator.

ECC - or Electronic Climate Control which is on the top of the range Dragon 3 TRD0820ER model.  As well providing the convenience of having a remote control the electronic controls provide a more even heat in the room and prevent the room from becoming too hot and then too cold and then too hot again.  This short video will explain how (opens in a new window).

38°C in August?

This report in the Daily Express discusses the heat wave that is expected across the U.K. at the end of July through to the middle of August.

The more conservative BBC monthly forecast also talks of very warm weather to come in the South East of England.

This is the weather pattern that Central Europe has been experiencing already this summer, which has caused air conditioning companies to run out of stock throughout mainland Europe.

Please buy now before UK stocks also run out.
